Smoothies, Muay Thai, Whales and Beach Parties.

A couple of days ago I was staying in Khao Lak where I enjoyed the beach, the weather and nature. The sole purpose of these 2 weeks in Khao Lak are to relax and calm down. Going from working in the colds of Germanys winter to the heat of Bangkok has been a huge change. Even though I really loved staying in Bangkok, the city took a lot from energy since I usually need a lot of alone time and I am not used to such a busy place.

My time in Khao Lak was my chance to reset my mind and body. I tried different foods, had my first Thai Massage and visited an island nearby. The trip to the Surin Islands was a powerful experience for me. The nature of Thailand that I have seen is impressive but the scenery in this part of the country is on a different level. On the trip to the islands I saw flying fish, lots of beautiful beaches and even a whale! We looked at different remote islands and also went snorkeling! I think I only have been snorkeling 3 times in my entire life but every time I do it I am amazed but the colors, shapes and life of the underwater world! If you are in the area of Khao Lak you should consider diving or snorkeling there, it’s definitely worth the money! I booked my trip with xtraholidays and had an amazing time!

Besides going to the beach, the hotel pool or to my favorite restaurant in town (Flavors of India), doing Yoga and working out still were an essential part of my day. The hot and humid weather of Thailand my the sessions even more intense and challenging. I love it! Being drenched in sweat after a workout feels great and the cold shower after makes you feel even better.

Usually I just went to the gym or the beach for my workouts but in the second week of staying in Khao Lak I decided to train Muay Thai at Empire Muay Thai Khao Lak to prepare myself for my 5 week training camp at the world famous Tiger Muay Thai in Phuket. I really liked the gym: Great vibes, great coaches and a lot of fun while training. The team taught me a lot and helped me improve my little to non existent Thai Boxing skills.

Part of my daily routine was getting a fruit shake right around the corner of the hotel. Everybody that knows me knows that I love smoothies and fruit so this was just perfect!

Right now I am staying at Tiger Muay Thai in Phuket. I have four more weeks to go and I am looking forward to the training. There are a lot of different classes that I can join and it’s difficult for me to decide which one I want to go to. My main focus is Yoga and BJJ but Muay Thai is just so much fun right now that I skipped a couple of Jiu Jitsu classes.🤫

My goal for the 5 weeks is to get into the best shape that I have ever been and to get my mind right. During the week I focus on training and on the weekends I plan to go to different islands and do day trips. This weekend I went to Koh Phi Phi with Saša who I met at the training camp. It’s a beautiful island with beautiful nature. We relaxed at the beach and did a boat trip where we went snorkeling and explore different bays and beaches. The trip and the hotel were super cheap and we had a great day! That being said I didn’t expect that many beach parties on Koh Phi Phi. The night life here is busy and there many clubs with a lot of different types of music. Dancing to electronic music and the beach and looking at the fire shows were a highlight of this weekend for sure!

Now as this weekend is coming to an end I am really looking forward to the training! One thing that I still need to figure out is when and where to record my Yoga Videos. My week is super busy and I enjoy it but I miss recording and editing videos! Hopefully this upcoming week I will find a solution! I am sure I will! ☀️
